TTC resumes Line 2 service between Islington and Jane stations

Subway service on Line 2 Bloor-Danforth between Islington and Jane stations has resumed following extensive repairs due to a track-level fire near Islington Station last week.

There continues to be no subway service between Kipling and Islington stations, while the TTC conducts repair work. Shuttle buses are operating between these two stations and extra TTC station staff are on-site to assist customers.

The TTC apologizes for the ongoing inconvenience experienced by customers during this service disruption. The transit agency also extends its gratitude to all TTC employees and contractors who have worked throughout the weekend in inclement weather to help make repairs and restore service as quickly as possible along the affected portion of Line 2.

The fire, which occurred Thursday afternoon, resulted in extensive damage to critical electrical systems necessary to operate trains safely. The cause of the fire continues to be investigated.
