Upcoming subway closures and weekend service adjustments


Subway closures

 

Line 1 – St Clair West to Sheppard West – weekend closure

 

This Sat., Sept. 30 and Sun., Oct. 1, there will be no subway service on the portion of Line 1 Yonge-University between St Clair West and Sheppard West stations due to track work.

 

Shuttle buses will run, stopping at each station along the route. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations.

 

Yorkdale and Glencairn stations will be closed during this time. All other subway stations will remain open for customers to load PRESTO cards, purchase PRESTO tickets and connect to surface routes.

 

Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.

 

Line 1 – Spadina to St Andrew – early weekday closures

 

Mon., Oct. 2, through Thurs., Oct. 5, subway service on the portion of Line 1 Yonge-University between Spadina and St Andrew stations, will end nightly at 11 p.m. due to track work.

 

Shuttle buses will run, stopping at each station along the route. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations.

 

Museum, Queens Park and St Patrick stations will be closed during this time. All other subway stations will remain open for customers to load PRESTO cards, purchase PRESTO tickets and connect to surface routes.

 

Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.

 

While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work.

 

Weekend events

 

Several TTC routes will divert to accommodate road closures for events in Toronto this weekend.

 

Fri., Sept. 29

 

The following routes will divert for the Ultra Night Run in the Distillery District:

 

  • 121 Esplanade-River, 4 p.m. – 11 p.m.

     

  • 504 King, 6 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.

 

Sun., Oct. 1

 

CIBC Run for the Cure and the Ontario Fallen Firefighters Memorial will result in the following service adjustments near the event zones:

 

  • 13 Avenue Road, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

     

  • 19 Bay, 3 a.m. – 3 p.m.

     

  • 94 Wellesley, 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

 

Other service adjustments

 

From 10 p.m. on Fri., Sept. 29 until 5 a.m. Mon., Oct. 2, the following TTC services will divert to accommodate Metrolinx construction of the Ontario Line on De Grassi Street bridge:

 

  • 72A Pape buses will not serve stops on Queen St. E. between Broadview and Carlaw avenues, or on Carlaw Ave. between Queen St. E. and Dundas St. E.

     

  • 501 Queen and 503 Kingston Road replacement buses will not serve stops on Queen St. E. between Broadview and Carlaw avenues.

 

From 5 a.m. until the start of subway service on Sat., Sept. 30, the 300 Bloor-Danforth Night Bus will divert, due to streetcar track replacement at Broadview Station. Stops on Danforth Ave. and Bloor St. E., between Pape Ave. and Parliament St. will not be served during this time.
