Upcoming TTC service adjustments
Subway closures
Weekend closure – Line 2 – Kipling to Islington
This Sat., Nov. 11 and Sun., Nov. 12, there will be no subway service on the portion of Line 2 Bloor-Danforth between Kipling and Islington stations due to track work.
Shuttle buses will run, stopping at each station along the route. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations. Stations will remain open for customers to load PRESTO cards, purchase PRESTO tickets and connect to surface routes.
Islington Station is not an accessible station. Customers who require an accessible connection should exit the train at Royal York Station and speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.
Additional Wheel-Trans vehicles will be available for any customer requiring extra assistance.
Monday to Thursday – Line 1 early nightly closure – Sheppard-Yonge to Eglinton
Mon., Nov. 13, through Thurs., Nov. 16, subway service on the portion of Line 1 Yonge-University between Sheppard-Yonge and Eglinton stations will end nightly at 11 p.m. due to track work.
Shuttle buses will run, stopping at each station along the route. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations. All subway stations will remain open for customers to load PRESTO cards, purchase PRESTO tickets and connect to surface routes.
At York Mills Station, the automatic entrance at Old York Mills Rd. will be closed. At Lawrence Station, the entrances at Bedford Park and Ranleigh avenues will be closed.
Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.
While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work.
Remembrance Day
On Remembrance Day, Sat., Nov.11, at 11 a.m., the TTC will pause all service for two minutes in honour and memory of Canada’s fallen.
All subway trains will be held at station platforms. Bus and streetcar operators will stop their vehicles at a regular service stop prior to 11 a.m. and remain there for the duration of the moment of silence. Wheel-Trans operators will hold their buses at a safe location.
Between 8:45 a.m. – 12 p.m., the 13 Avenue Road and 94 Wellesley will be diverting to accommodate the Queen’s Park Remembrance Day Ceremony and Gun Salute.
Between 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., the 19 Bay and 501B Queen will be diverting to accommodate Remembrance Day ceremonies at Old City Hall.
In Markham, the 102D Markham Road will be diverting between 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. for the Markham Remembrance Day Parade.
CIBC Square bridge installation
Friday through Monday, the TTC will be adjusting several routes due to road closures and operational restrictions associated with the transportation and installation of a pedestrian bridge connecting Union Station with CIBC Square at 141 Bay St.
Starting at 7 p.m. Fri., Nov. 10 until 7 p.m. Mon., Nov. 13:
- 19 Bay buses will be diverting both ways between Front St. W. and Queens Quay E., via Yonge St.
- 72 Pape buses will be diverting along Yonge St., via Wellington St. W. and Front. St. W.
- 320 Yonge Night Bus will not be serving stops along Bay St.
Customers on 75 Sherbourne and 121 Esplanade buses may experience intermittent delays during this period.
From 11 p.m. Fri., Nov. 10 until 4 a.m. Mon., Nov. 13, the Queens Quay and Union Station streetcar platforms will be closed. Replacement buses for the 509 Harbourfront and 510 Spadina will be serving stops outside Union Station at Front and Bay streets.
Other service diversions
- 7 p.m. Fri., Nov. 10 until 7 p.m., 36/336 Finch West buses will be diverting between Kipling and Islington avenues, via Albion Rd., accommodating Metrolinx construction of the Finch West LRT.
- 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Sat., Nov. 11, the bus bay at St Clair Station will be closed for utility relocation, with buses serving stops on Pleasant Blvd. in front of the station. Routes include the 74 Mount Pleasant, 88 Leaside, and 97 Yonge. The accessible presto fare gate will be open for customers entering from street level at Pleasant Blvd.
