TTC seasonal services are back with a new look

Starting this Sun., May 7, TTC seasonal routes to popular parks and attractions have a fresh, new look and updated 200-series route numbers.

Customers can now easily identify seasonal routes, marked by white and pink branding on maps, station signage and stop poles.

The TTC will also be launching a new, dedicated Toronto Zoo service taking customers to and from Rouge Hill GO Station and the Toronto Zoo via Port Union Rd. and Sheppard Ave. E. on weekends from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

In addition to the new 200 Toronto Zoo, TTC will be brining back popular seasonal Bluffer’s Park and Cherry Beach lakeside routes.

In June, the 203 High Park will return and begin weekend and holiday service.

“We want to make it easy for people to take the TTC to visit the Toronto Zoo, parks and beaches across the city this summer," said Deputy Mayor Jennifer McKelvie. “The TTC’s seasonal routes are a greener, cleaner way to get around for summer fun and the City of Toronto is proud to support this service."

“These seasonal routes are a great way for Torontonians to use transit to embrace all our city has to offer this spring and summer,” said TTC Chair Jon Burnside. “Every year, the TTC works to ensure residents and visitors can access parks and attractions quickly, conveniently and safely. I thank the dedicated team at the TTC for bringing these new seasonal services to our customers.”

“We continue to be committed to delivering the service our customers need, including re-introducing routes to popular warm-weather destinations across the city,” said TTC CEO Rick Leary. “We are also pleased to be introducing an entirely new route to the Toronto Zoo, and new branding to our existing seasonal routes, to make it even easier to explore Toronto and navigate the TTC.”

Beginning Sun., May 7, the 200 Toronto Zoo will run every 20 minutes on weekends from 8 a.m., to 9 p.m. In June, service hours will be adjusted to run Monday – Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. to better align service with Toronto Zoo operating hours.

The 201 Bluffer’s Park will operate between Kennedy Station and Bluffer’s Park during the daytime and early evenings on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Buses will arrive every 15 minutes. In June, a new weekday service will be trialed on this route, and service will operate from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The 202 Cherry Beach will operate between Union Station and Cherry Beach from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday - Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 12 a.m. on weekends. Buses will arrive every 30 minutes on weekdays, and every 15 minutes on weekends and holidays.

Beginning on June 18, the 203 High Park will operate between High Park Station and High Park in the morning and afternoon on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. This route will operate via West Rd. and Colborne Lodge Dr., with buses every 20 minutes.
