Upcoming TTC subway closures and service changes

This Sat., Apr. 1, and Sun., Apr. 2, there will be no subway service on the portion of Line 1 between York Mills and Bloor-Yonge stations due to important repairs and updates to track-level ATC infrastructure.

Shuttle buses will run, stopping at each station along the route. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations. In addition to the shuttles, the 97 Yonge bus and the University side of Line 1 will be available as alternatives during the closure.

Summerhill Station will be closed. All other stations will remain open for customers to load their PRESTO card, purchase PRESTO Tickets, or connect to surface routes.

At Lawrence Station, the automatic entrances/exits at Ranleigh Ave. and Bedford Park Ave. will be closed. Other entrances and exits will be available for customers.

Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.

Sunday

This Sun., Apr. 2 only, service on Line 2 between St George and Broadview stations will begin by noon to accommodate beam replacement on the Prince Edward (Bloor) Viaduct.

Shuttle buses will operate. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations.

Bay and Sherbourne stations will be closed. All other stations will remain open for customers to load their PRESTO card, purchase PRESTO Tickets, or connect to surface routes.

Monday to Thursday

Starting at 11 p.m., Mon., Apr. 3 nightly through Thu., Apr. 6, subway service on Line 1 between Vaughan Metropolitan Centre and Finch West stations will operate on a single-track. This will allow TTC crews to complete necessary upgrades on the opposite track.

The TTC will operate a subway shuttle train between Vaughan Metropolitan Centre and Finch West stations. The subway shuttle train will run on the southbound track, while repair work is carried out on the northbound track.

Customers will board northbound trains on the southbound side of the platforms and may experience slightly longer than normal wait and travel times.

While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work.

The TTC is committed to keeping customers informed about work and events that impact service and about alternate routes. Customers are encouraged to visit ttc.ca and subscribe to e-Alerts or follow @TTCNotices on Twitter for more information.
