Weekend travel information

Subway late opening – St. George to Broadview

This Sun., Aug. 27 only, subway service on Line 2 between St George and Broadview stations will begin by noon to accommodate beam replacement on the Prince Edward (Bloor) Viaduct.

Shuttle buses will operate. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations.

Bay and Sherbourne stations will be closed. All other stations will remain open for customers to load their PRESTO card, purchase PRESTO Tickets, or connect to surface routes.

Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.

While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work.

Those attending the CNE can take the subway, Line 2 Bloor-Danforth, to Dufferin Station and a 29 Dufferin, 929 Dufferin Express, or CNE Express shuttle bus to Dufferin Gate Loop. From Bathurst Station, customers can take a 511 Bathurst streetcar or a dedicated CNE Express shuttle bus to Exhibition Loop. Customers can also take the subway, Line 1 Yonge-University, to Union Station and transfer to a 509 Harbourfront streetcar.

Tamil Fest

Customers heading to Tamil Fest on Saturday and Sunday can take the 102 Markham Rd., with connections from Warden Station and several bus routes crossing Markham Rd.

Starting 10 p.m. on Fri., Aug. 25, until 5 a.m. Mon., Aug. 28, the section of Markham Rd. between McNicoll and Passmore avenues will be closed. The 102B/C/D Markham Rd. will divert both ways along Dynamic Dr. during this time.

Philippines Independence Day Celebration and Parade

Those attending the Philippines Independence Day Celebration and Parade at Nathan Philips Square on Sun., Aug. 27, have plenty of transit options to the event and to key vantage points along the parade route. The closest subway stops are on Line 1 Yonge-University, at Queen, King, Osgoode, and St Andrew stations.

Some surface routes will divert to accommodate road closures for the event, including the 19 Bay and 503 Kingston bus, from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., and the 501B Queen bus, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Other diversions and service updates

Starting Sat., Aug. 26, Line 3 Scarborough shuttle buses will operate on a new routing. Buses will operate northbound on Kennedy Rd. and southbound on Midland Ave., between Eglinton Ave. E. and Progress Ave.

From 1:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., Sun., Aug. 27, buses will not enter Lawrence West Station, due to a crane lift. Service stops will be in front of the station on Lawrence Ave. W.

The TTC is committed to keeping customers informed about work and events that affect service and about alternate routes. For the most up-to-date information, follow @TTCNotices on Twitter or sign up for e-Alerts.
