Upcoming TTC subway closures and service changes
This Sat., April 22, and Sun., April 23, there will be no subway service on the portion of Line 1 between York Mills and St Clair stations due to Metrolinx construction of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT (ECLRT). The TTC will also take advantage of this closure to continue work on the Easier Access project to improve accessibility at Lawrence Station.
Shuttle buses will run, stopping at each station along the route. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations. In addition to the shuttles, the 97 Yonge bus and the University side of Line 1 will be available as alternatives during the closure.
Lawrence Station will be closed due to Easier Access construction. Buses will not enter Lawrence Station and boarding will be at street level.
All other stations will remain open for customers to load their PRESTO card, purchase PRESTO Tickets, or connect to surface routes.
Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.
Sunday
This Sun., April 23 only, service on Line 2 between St George and Broadview stations will begin by noon to accommodate beam replacement on the Prince Edward (Bloor) Viaduct.
Shuttle buses will operate. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations.
Bay and Sherbourne stations will be closed. All other stations will remain open for customers to load their PRESTO card, purchase PRESTO Tickets, or connect to surface routes.
Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak to any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.
Weekend events and service impacts
Those travelling to High Park this weekend to view the cherry blossoms are encouraged to take the TTC. Customers can take Line 2 to High Park Station, as well as the 30 High Park or 189 Stockyards bus.
As High Park Station is not yet accessible, Wheel-Trans will be operating additional services from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. Customers travelling westbound who require an accessible connection can exit the subway at Keele Station, while those travelling eastbound can exit at Runnymede Station, and board a Wheel-Trans bus to High Park.
Also on Sat., April 22 only, from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., the 511 Bathurst streetcar will turn back at Charlotte Loop via Queen St W., due to Gardiner Expressway bridge inspection work. Replacement buses will operate between Queen St W., and the Exhibition Loop.
Monday to Thursday
Mon., April 24 through Thurs., April 27, subway service on the portion of Line 1 between Sheppard-Yonge and Eglinton stations will end nightly at 11 p.m. for track work.
Replacement shuttle buses will run frequently, stopping at each station along the route. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations.
All stations will remain open for customers to load their PRESTO card or purchase PRESTO Tickets and connect to surface routes. At York Mills Station, the automated entrance/exit at Old York Mills Rd. will be closed. Other entrances and exits will be available for customers at the station.
While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work.
The TTC is committed to keeping customers informed about work and events that impact service and about alternate routes. For the most up-to-date information, follow @TTCNotices on Twitter or sign up for eAlerts.
