Upcoming TTC Subway Closures

This Sat., Nov. 12 and Sun., Nov. 13, trains on Line 1 between Wilson and Lawrence West stations will alternate use of the southbound track to accommodate maintenance work on the northbound track.

The TTC will operate a subway shuttle train between Wilson and Lawrence West stations. The subway shuttle train will run on the southbound track, while repair work is carried out on the northbound track.

If travelling to or between Wilson, Yorkdale and Lawrence West stations, customers will need to do the following:

If travelling southbound:

• disembark from the southbound subway train at Wilson Station
• board the subway shuttle train between Wilson and Lawrence West stations. This shuttle train will also stop at Yorkdale Station
• at Lawrence West Station, board a southbound train to continue their journey

If travelling northbound:

• disembark from the northbound subway train at Lawrence West Station
• cross to the other platform to board the subway shuttle train between Lawrence West and Wilson stations. This shuttle train will also stop at Yorkdale Station
• at Wilson Station, cross to the other platform and board a northbound train to continue their journey

Customers travelling on the University side of Line 1 may experience longer than normal travel and wait times. The TTC encourages customers to plan ahead and leave themselves extra time.

Additional TTC staff will be available at Wilson, Yorkdale and Lawrence West stations to assist customers. All three stations will remain open for people to load their PRESTO card, purchase PRESTO Tickets, or connect to surface routes.

Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.

Monday to Thursday

Mon., Nov. 14 through Thurs., Nov. 17, subway service on the portion of Line 1 between Finch and Eglinton stations will end nightly at 11 p.m. for track work.

Replacement shuttle buses will run, stopping at each station along the route. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations.

North York Centre Station will be closed. All other stations will remain open for people to load their PRESTO card or purchase PRESTO Tickets and connect to surface routes.

At Sheppard-Yonge Station, the automatic entrances/exits at Poyntz Ave. and Anndale Dr. will be closed. At York Mills Station, the Old York Mills Rd. entrance/exit will be closed. At Lawrence Station, the automatic entrances/exits at Ranleigh Ave. and Bedford Park Ave. will also be closed. Other entrances and exits will be available for customers at each subway station.

While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work.
