Ten thousand COVID-19 Vaccine Doses Administered at TTC Clinics

The TTC has hit a major milestone in its vaccination efforts, with over 10,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccinations administered at clinics held at TTC locations.

“I want to thank the TTC for being part of Team Toronto and for helping us get more residents vaccinated every day. This milestone of 10,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses administered at TTC station clinics demonstrates what we can achieve when we bring the vaccine directly to places where we know people will be," said Mayor John Tory. "Our latest campaign with the TTC – Vax and Ride – is helping us get hundreds more people vaccinated by targeting specific areas in the city with lower uptake. These clinics are all part of the world-leading work we are doing to make it as easy and accessible as possible to get the vaccine."

“I’m very pleased that we’ve been able to hit this major milestone at the TTC’s vaccination clinics. We have been working closely with public health partners since last year to provide convenient access to vaccines, and it's been amazing to see these efforts pay off as the vaccination rate in Toronto has grown. I hope that our riders will continue to take advantage of these clinics to receive their first, second and third doses,” said TTC Chair Jaye Robinson.

“I’m very proud that we’ve been able to play a role in administering over 10,000 vaccine doses, and I am grateful to the health partners who have worked with us to host these clinics for employees and customers,” said TTC CEO Rick Leary. “We know that vaccines play a major role in ending this pandemic, and we are proud of the part that the TTC is playing in putting this pandemic behind us.”

The TTC has hosted 160 clinics since May 2021. These include 43 clinics at divisions for TTC employees and their families, and 117 clinics at stations for customers, employees, and members of the public.

The TTC and its partners continue to host vaccination clinics across the network to ensure vaccinations are accessible to everyone.  The next vaccination clinics will be held Thurs., Apr. 7 to Sun., Apr. 10, at Sheppard West, Sheppard-Yonge, St. Clair West and York University stations on Line 1, along with Bathurst, Islington, Jane, Kennedy and Warden stations on Line 2. These clinics are being run in partnership with Toronto Public Health, and will operate from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. each day.

Those visiting a vaccine clinic who are not travelling on the TTC will not be required to pay a fare. First, second and booster doses will be administered to those 5 years and older as per public health guidelines. No appointments will be required, and both Pfizer and Moderna vaccines will be available.
