Upcoming TTC Subway Closures

This Sat., Sept. 25 and Sun., Sept. 26, there will be no subway service on the portion of Line 1 between Lawrence and St Clair stations due to Metrolinx construction of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT (ECLRT). The TTC will also take advantage of this closure to perform maintenance in this area.

Shuttle buses will run frequently, stopping at each station along the route. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations, which will vary from station to station. In addition to the shuttles, the 97 Yonge bus and the University side of Line 1 will be available as alternatives during the closure.

All stations will remain open for people to load their PRESTO card, purchase PRESTO Tickets, or connect to surface routes.

As Lawrence Station is not yet accessible, customers travelling southbound on Line 1 who require an accessible connection should exit the train at York Mills Station and see any TTC customer service employee for assistance.

Monday and Tuesday

Mon., Sept. 27 and Tues., Sept. 28, subway service on the portion of Line 1 between Sheppard West and Wilson stations will end nightly at 11 p.m. for track work.

Shuttle buses will run frequently between the two stations. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations.

Both stations will remain open for people to load their PRESTO card, purchase PRESTO Tickets, or connect to surface routes.

Wednesday to Friday

Wed., Sept. 29 through Fri., Oct. 1, subway service on the portion of Line 1 between Eglinton and King stations will end nightly at 11 p.m. for track work and ATC signal upgrades.

Replacement shuttle buses will run, stopping at each station along the route. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations, which will vary from station to station.

Summerhill, College and Queen stations will be closed. All other stations will remain open for people to load their PRESTO card or purchase PRESTO Tickets and connect to surface routes.

As King Station is not yet accessible, customers who require an accessible connection and are travelling northbound onto the Yonge side of Line 1 should exit the train at Union Station and see any TTC customer service employee for assistance.

Nightly single-track operation

Between midnight and 6 a.m. on Mon., Sept. 27 through Thurs., Sept. 30, subway service on the portion of Line 1 between Vaughan Metropolitan Centre and Pioneer Village stations will operate on a single line. Trains will alternate use of the southbound tracks to accommodate leak remediation work on the northbound tracks.

Customers will board northbound trains on the southbound side of the platforms and may experience slightly longer than normal wait and travel times.

While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work as well as ATC signal upgrades.

The TTC is committed to keeping customers informed about work and events that impact service and about alternate routes. For the most up-to-date information, follow @TTCNotices on Twitter or sign up for eAlerts.
