TTC to hold annual Accessible Transit Forum virtually this evening

The TTC will be holding its second virtual Public Forum on Accessible Transit this evening. The annual event provides an open forum for discussion about the accessibility of conventional TTC and door-to-door (Wheel-Trans) public transit services in Toronto.

Customers who participate in the forum will receive updates from staff on recent accessibility initiatives and plans for the continued improvement of transit in Toronto, including the Wheel-Trans 10-year Strategy, Family of Services, and The Easier Access project initiatives, as well as the TTC's response to COVID-19.

"Accessibility is a major focus for the TTC and this annual forum provides a platform for us to hear input directly from the public," said TTC Chair Jaye Robinson. "The feedback gathered from this event will help inform our plans as we continue to work toward a barrier-free transit system."

"We're committed to ensuring that our services are accessible, and that we meet the needs of all our customers," said TTC CEO Rick Leary. "Forums such as this provide an opportunity for us to hear directly from those who are using our Wheel-Trans service regularly, have an open dialogue, and update those same customers on the improvements that are constantly being made to our system."

Participants will have the opportunity to address TTC staff and members of the TTC's Advisory Committee on Accessible Transit (ACAT) as well as ask questions and raise concerns around TTC accessibility and Wheel-Trans services.

Event details are as follows:

Date: Today, Thurs., Oct. 21, 2021
Time: 7-9 p.m.

Customers are required to register for the event, and can participate online or by phone.

Customers are encouraged to visit ttc.ca for additional information and to register for the forum.
