TTC CEO Rick Leary's statement on the death of Constable Jeffrey Northrup

It is with a heavy heart that I offer my deepest condolences on behalf of all employees at the TTC to the family and friends of Constable Jeffrey Northrup, of 52 Division with the Toronto Police Service. Constable Northrup was killed early this morning in the line of duty.

On behalf of the TTC, we would also like to wish Constable Northrup’s partner, who was injured in the incident, a quick recovery.

We know tragic events such as this can have a profound impact on all members of the police community as well as our city.

Flags across all TTC properties have been lowered to half mast in honour of Constable Northrup.
