Upcoming TTC Subway Closures

Saturday

This Sat., Aug. 21 only, there will be no service on Line 3 Scarborough as the TTC carries out needed state-of-good-repair track work.

Shuttle buses will run frequently. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations.

Ellesmere, Midland and McCowan stations will be closed. All other stations will remain open for fare sales and connection to surface routes. Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.

Also on Sat., Aug. 21 only, subway service on the portion of Line 1 between Eglinton and King stations will end at 11 p.m. to accommodate ATC signal upgrades.

Replacement shuttle buses will run, stopping at each station along the route. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations, which will vary from station to station.

Summerhill, College and Queen stations will be closed. All other stations will remain open for fare sales and access to surface routes and Line 2.

At Wellesley Station, the Dundonald Street entrance/exit will be closed. Other entrances and exits will be available for customers at each subway station.

As King Station is not yet accessible, customers intending to travel northbound on the Yonge side of Line 1 who require an accessible connection should exit the train at Union Station and see any TTC customer service employee for assistance.

Sunday

This Sun., Aug. 22 only, there will be no subway service on the portion of Line 1 between Sheppard-Yonge and Bloor-Yonge stations due to ATC signal upgrades.

Replacement shuttle buses will run, stopping at each station along the route. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations, which will vary from station to station. In addition to the shuttles, the 97 Yonge bus and the University side of Line 1 will be available as alternatives during the closure.

Summerhill Station will be closed. All other stations will remain open for fare sales, and access to surface routes, Lines 2 and 4.

At York Mills Station, the Old York Mills Road entrance/exit will be closed. At Lawrence Station, the automatic entrances/exits at Ranleigh Avenue and Bedford Park Avenue will also be closed. Other entrances and exits will be available for customers at each subway station.

Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.

Monday to Thursday

Mon., Aug. 23 through Thurs. Aug. 26, service on Line 3 Scarborough will end at 11 p.m. nightly for track work.

Shuttle buses will run frequently. Ellesmere, Midland and McCowan stations will be closed. All other stations will remain open for fare sales and connection to surface routes.

Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak to any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.

While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work as well as ATC signal upgrades.

Wheel-Trans authorized sedan taxis entering subway stations

Starting this Sat. Aug. 21, authorized Wheel-Trans sedan taxis will be allowed entry to designated bus bays at accessible TTC stations. This will allow more Wheel-Trans customers to access the conventional TTC network, and provide customers with additional flexibility and freedom of travel.

Only approved and authorized sedan taxis with an affixed Wheel-Trans decal will be allowed access. Currently, only Wheel-Trans buses and accessible mini-van taxis are permitted to enter bus bays.

The TTC is committed to keeping customers informed about work and events that impact service and about alternate routes. For the most up-to-date information, follow @TTCNotices on Twitter or sign up for eAlerts.
