TTC's Line 3 to close for track maintenance this weekend

This weekend, Sat., Sept. 12 and Sun., Sept. 13, there will be no service on Line 3 Scarborough as TTC crews carry out essential track maintenance work. Periodic Line 3 closures are required as the TTC undertakes a complete life-extension rehabilitation of the tracks and vehicles to provide a more reliable and comfortable service.

Shuttle buses will run along Midland Ave. stopping at Kennedy, Lawrence East, Ellesmere, Midland and Scarborough Centre stations. Lawrence East Station will be serviced at Lawrence Ave. E. and Midland Ave., and Ellesmere Station will be serviced at Midland Ave. and Ellesmere Rd. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations, which will vary from station to station. The 16 McCowan will also be available as an alternative during the closure.

Ellesmere, Midland and McCowan stations will be closed but all other stations will remain open for fare sales and transfers to surface routes and Line 2. All local surface connections will continue to run as scheduled.

Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance. Kennedy Station is accessible.

While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state of good repair work as well as ATC signal upgrades.

The TTC is committed to keeping customers informed about work and events that impact service and about alternative routes. For the most up-to-date information, follow @TTCNotices on Twitter or sign up for eAlerts.
