Seasonal service changes and improvements

The TTC will be implementing several seasonal service changes and improvements effective this Sun., June 21.

Extra seasonal service

The TTC will be reintroducing seasonal service on select routes as well as increased service on other routes so that Torontonians can easily access warm-weather activities around the city. The routes include:

- 86 Scarborough - early evening shuttle service between Meadowvale Loop and Toronto Zoo
- 92 Woodbine South - increased service frequency in the afternoon, early evening and on weekends
- 121 Fort York-Esplanade - seasonal service extensions to Ontario Place and Cherry Beach
- 175 Bluffer’s Park - seasonal weekend service

Given decreased ridership and the uncertainty around travel habits during the pandemic, service frequencies may be adjusted.

Additional service on busy bus routes

The TTC will be adding additional service on higher-ridership routes in order to reduce crowding for customers. These routes are:

- 7 Bathurst
- 24 Victoria Park
- 29 Dufferin
- 34 Eglinton East
- 35 Jane
- 39 Finch East
- 41 Keele
- 52 Lawrence West
- 54 Lawrence East
- 86 Scarborough
- 102 Markham Rd
- 165 Weston Rd North

Bathurst Station

Due to reconstruction of streetcar tracks on Bathurst St., at Bathurst Station, and the closure of the bus and streetcar loop at Bathurst Station, buses on the 7 Bathurst route and on the 511/307 Bathurst route will be required to divert. Buses will divert in both directions, via Dupont St. and Spadina Rd. to Spadina Station. 511/307 Bathurst routes will connect with the subway at Spadina Station instead of Bathurst Station. There will be no service on Bathurst St. from Dupont St. to Bathurst Station. Construction is expected to be complete by Sept. 5, 2020. Diversions on the 511/307 Bathurst due to the rehabilitation of the Bathurst St. bridge will continue until the end of 2020.

506 Carlton

Due to reconstruction and upgrading of the streetcar overhead network, streetcars on the 506/306 Carlton will be replaced by buses until the end of the year.

From June 21 to Oct. 12, 2020, High Park Loop and Howard Park Ave. will not be served. Customers along Howard Park Ave. are asked to use the nearest transit service crossing:

- Parkside Dr. (80 Queensway buses)
- Roncesvalles Ave. (504/304 King streetcars)
- Dundas St. W. (506/306 Carlton buses and 505 Dundas streetcars) 506/306 buses will operate between Dundas West Station and Main Street Station.

503 Kingston Rd

Vehicle availability means that for the first time since 2018, streetcars will be scheduled on this route for the balance of the year. And for the first time ever the TTC’s new accessible low-floor streetcars will be in service.

Streetcars will operate between Bingham Loop and Charlotte Loop.

The TTC is committed to keeping customers informed about work and events that impact service and about alternative routes. For the most up-to-date information, follow @TTCNotices on Twitter or sign up for eAlerts.
