Portion of TTC Line 1 to close this weekend

This weekend, Sat., June 20 and Sun., June 21, there will be no subway service on the portion of Line 1 between Sheppard-Yonge and St Clair stations to allow Metrolinx crews to continue work on the Eglinton Crosstown LRT and TTC crews to perform track maintenance.

Shuttle buses will run frequently along Yonge St., stopping at each station along the route. At York Mills, Lawrence, Eglinton and Davisville stations, customers can board and disembark on Yonge St. At Sheppard-Yonge, customers can disembark in the bus bay and board on Yonge St. outside the station. At St Clair Station, customers can board inside the bus bay and disembark on St. Clair Ave. E., outside the station. In addition to shuttles, the 97 Yonge bus and the University side of Line 1 are available as alternatives during the closure.

At York Mills Station, the Old York Mills Rd. entrance/exit will be closed. At Lawrence Station, the automatic entrances/exits at Ranleigh Ave. and Bedford Park Ave. will be closed. Other entrances and exits will be available for customers at each subway station. All stations will remain open for PRESTO fare sales and access to surface routes and Line 4.

Customers requiring Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.

While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and ATC upgrades.

The TTC is committed to keeping customers informed about work and events that impact service and about alternative routes. For the most up-to-date information, follow @TTCNotices on Twitter or sign up for eAlerts.
