Portion of TTC Line 1 to close this weekend

This weekend, Sat., Jan. 11 and Sun., Jan. 12, the portion of Line 1 between Sheppard-Yonge and St Clair stations will be closed for track maintenance.

Replacement shuttle buses will run along Yonge St., stopping at each station along the route. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations, which will vary from station to station. The 97 Yonge bus and the University side of Line 1 will also available as alternatives during the closure.

All stations will remain open for fare sales, access to surface routes and Line 4. Customers using York Mills Station should note that the Old York Mills Rd. entrance will be closed. Customers are advised to use the other station entrances located in the York Mills Centre, Yonge Corporate Centre and at the corner of Yonge St. and Wilson Ave. instead.

Wheel-Trans will be available upon request from any station throughout the closure. Customers can speak with a TTC staff member for more information about service frequency.

While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and ATC upgrades.
