Upcoming TTC subway closures

This weekend, Sat., Dec. 12 and Sun., Dec. 13, there will be no subway service on the portion of Line 1 between Finch and St Clair stations to allow TTC crews to continue tunnel and signal upgrade work; the second and final phase of a ten-day closure.

Shuttle buses will run frequently throughout the closure. The Yonge side of Line 1 will also be available as an alternative.

North York Centre Station will be closed. All other stations will remain open for fare sales and access to surface routes and Line 4.

At Sheppard-Yonge Station, the automatic entrances/exits at Yonge St. and Poyntz Ave. and at Yonge St. and Anndale Dr. will be closed. At York Mills Station, the Old York Mills Rd. entrance/exit will be closed. At Lawrence Station, the automatic entrances/exits at Ranleigh Ave. and Bedford Park Ave. will also be closed. Other entrances and exits will be available for customers at each subway station.

Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.

The TTC is capitalizing on reduced ridership during the COVID-19 pandemic to carry out this much-needed work, saving more than two years of early nightly closure shifts. During the closure, crews will be performing vital state-of-good-repair work, including tunnel lining repairs, track remediation, asbestos removal and station cleaning, as well as ATC signal upgrades.

Regular subway service on Line 1 will resume on Mon., Dec. 14.

Monday-Thursday

This Mon., Dec. 14 through Thurs., Dec. 17, subway service on the portion of Line 2 between Broadview and Woodbine stations will end nightly at 11 p.m. for track work. Shuttle buses will run frequently throughout the closure, stopping at each station along the route. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations, which will vary at each station.

Chester Station will be closed, but all other stations will remain open for fare sales and transfers to surface routes. At Pape Station, the automatic entrance/exit at Lipton Ave. will also be closed. Other entrances/exits will be available.

Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.

The TTC is committed to keeping customers informed about work and events that impact service and about alternative routes. For the most up-to-date information, follow @TTCNotices on Twitter or sign up for eAlerts.
