TTC’s Line 3 to close for track maintenance

This Sat., May 18 through Mon., May 20, there will be no service on Line 3 Scarborough as TTC crews carry out essential track maintenance work. Periodic Line 3 closures are required as the TTC undertakes a complete life-extension rehabilitation of the tracks and vehicles to provide a more reliable and comfortable service.

Shuttle buses will run along Midland Ave. stopping at Kennedy, Lawrence East, Ellesmere, Midland and Scarborough Centre stations. Lawrence East Station will be serviced at Lawrence Ave. E. and Midland Ave., and Ellesmere Station will be serviced at Midland Ave. and Ellesmere Rd.

Ellesmere, Midland and McCowan stations will be closed but all other stations will remain open for fare sales and transfers to surface routes. All local surface connections will continue to run as scheduled.

Wheel-Trans will be available upon request from any station during the weekend. Customers can speak with a TTC staff member to request Wheel-Trans service and for information about service frequency. Kennedy Station is accessible.

Regular service will resume Tuesday morning at 6 a.m.

While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state of good repair work.

The TTC is committed to keeping customers informed about work and events that impact service and about alternative routes. For the most up-to-date information, follow @TTCNotices on Twitter or sign up for eAlerts.
