A portion of TTC Line 1 to close early next Mon-Thurs

Next Monday through Thursday, May 6-9, the portion of the TTC’s Line 1 between Eglinton and Bloor stations will close at 11 p.m. nightly for track maintenance.

Shuttle buses will run, stopping at each station along the route. Summerhill Station will be closed, but all others will remain open for fare sales and access to surface routes. Shuttle loading and offloading locations will vary from station to station. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers and answer questions.

Wheel-Trans will be available upon request from any station. Customers can speak with a TTC staff member for more information about service frequency.

Also, Tues., May 7-Fri., May 31, there will be a restricted speed zone in place to support the work being done between Rosedale and Bloor stations. Operating speeds will be reduced through that section to allow workers to perform planned track rehabilitation work. Since trains will travel through that area at a slower-than-usual speed, customers may experience longer travel times both directions during rush hour.

At any given time, subway systems like Toronto’s can expect to have two-to-three reduced speed zones at any one time.

This weekend

The TTC is reminding customers that the portion of Line 2 between Victoria Park and Kennedy stations will be closed tomorrow to allow TTC crews to perform essential track maintenance work.

Shuttle buses will run frequently and stop at each station along the route. Wheel-Trans will be available from any station on Saturday to provide service to customers requiring accessible connections.

All stations will remain open for fare sales and access to surface routes.

While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and maintenance upgrades.
