Changes coming to TTC fares and passes on April 1

The TTC is reminding customers the cost of most fares and passes will increase on Apr. 1, 2019.

In January, the TTC Board approved the 2019 operating budget that protects recent service improvements and adds 10 cents to most fare types except adult cash fare. This keeps the average fare increase over the last two years in line with the rate of inflation. Fares did not rise in 2018.

Monthly Passes will increase by $4.90/month and 12 Month Passes will increase by $4.55/month. Post-Secondary, Senior and Student Monthly Passes will go up by $5.70/month. For more detailed fare increase information, please see the attached graphic.

Customers who have signed up for preauthorized payment for their 12 Month Pass may have already seen an increased charge processed.

TTC Weekly Pass

As of this Sun., Mar. 31, the TTC Weekly Pass will be discontinued. After March 31, customers must pay their fares as they go or purchase a TTC monthly pass, available for sale from the last 12 days of the month until eight days into the following month. If customers pay their single fare using a PRESTO card they will be able to take advantage of the two-hour transfer.

The TTC is exploring a number of fare options that could be made available on PRESTO in the future, such as a weekly maximum, as part a fare policy review that the organization is conducting.
