Reminder: TTC’s Line 3 Scarborough closed this weekend
The TTC is reminding customers that this weekend, Mar. 17-18, Line 3 Scarborough will be closed for track work and maintenance. Shuttles buses will operate from Kennedy to McCowan with stops at each station along the route. Kennedy, Lawrence East and Scarborough Centre stations will remain open for fare sales. All other stations on Line 3 will be closed.
Wheel-Trans will stop at each station for customers requiring an accessible connection. Customers can speak with any TTC staff member for more information about service frequency.
Periodic weekend closures are required as the TTC undertakes a complete life-extension rehabilitation of the tracks and vehicles on Line 3 to provide a more reliable and comfortable service over the next 10 years. The line will be decommissioned following the opening of the Scarborough Subway Extension.
Also this Saturday, Jameson Irish Whiskey is helping Torontonians celebrate St. Patrick’s Day safely by generously providing free transit from 4 p.m. – 2:30 a.m. on the 501 Queen, 504 King and 514 Cherry streetcar routes.
Finally, a reminder that customers can continue to purchase and use March Break one-day group passes for unlimited travel on the TTC. Until Sun., Mar. 18, individuals or groups can explore the city for just $12.50/day. Children 12 and under always ride for free. For more information, please visit www.ttc.ca.
