TTC to launch new bus service in Mimico

On Mon., June 25, 2018, Toronto Mayor John Tory, TTC Chair Josh Colle and Councillor Mark Grimes (Ward 6 Etobicoke-Lakeshore) will officially introduce the new ‘176 Mimico GO’ bus with service to Mimico GO Station.

The route will improve access to and from the station for local residents and provide an affordable alternative to driving into the downtown core. The weekday service will run every 30 minutes from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Date: Mon., June 25, 2018

Time: 10 a.m.

Who: Mayor John Tory, TTC Chair Josh Colle, Councillor Mark Grimes

Place: TTC Lake Shore Loop - Lake Shore Blvd. W. at Marine Parade Dr.

Currently, there are no direct transit connections between Mimico GO Station and neighbourhoods east of the station. The 176 Mimico GO route increases the volume of service in the area and extends coverage to some streets not serviced by the TTC. Eight new accessible bus stops and platforms will be built on these streets, subject to amended parking regulations. Mimico GO Station is not fully accessible.

Customers using this new route will pay a regular TTC fare. If customers are connecting to GO Transit services at Mimico GO Station using a PRESTO card, the total cost of the trip will be reduced by $1.50 for adults and $0.55 for students and seniors. Customers who connect to the TTC from GO can use the TTC transfer from their first ride to board the second vehicle.
