Line 1 closure now Saturday only

Eglinton Crosstown construction and TTC track work to conclude Saturday night

Tomorrow only, the portion of Line 1 Yonge-University between St Clair and Sheppard-Yonge Stations will be closed, as Metrolinx crews continue construction on the new Eglinton Crosstown LRT, and the TTC takes advantage of this closure to complete track work.

This closure was originally scheduled for two days, but the weekend’s work will now conclude on Saturday night. Regular subway service will resume Sun., Feb. 25 at 8 a.m.

During Saturday’s closure, there will be no traditional north-south shuttle bus service on Yonge St. during the closure. To provide faster service, the TTC will add frequent express service on all major east-west routes to connect customers to the University portion of Line 1 at Yonge-Sheppard, York Mills, Lawrence and Eglinton stations.

In addition to regular weekend bus service, express buses will run frequently on the following routes:
- 32 Eglinton West
- 52 Lawrence West
- 84 Sheppard West
- 96 Wilson

There will be increased service on the 97 Yonge route for customers requiring travel along local stops on Yonge St.
The 11 Bayview and 28 Davisville buses will extend to St Clair Station throughout the day, and the 61 Avenue Rd North and 512 St Clair routes will also run more frequently.

TTC Customer Service Ambassadors will be present in all stations along the closure area to assist customers getting where they need to go.
