Back to School on the TTC
The TTC has some back-to-school reminders for students and parents as they begin a new school year.
Children 12 and under ride the TTC for free. All other students can pay their TTC fare using several methods of payment including:
PRESTO
- $2.05 for students 13-19
- $3.00 for post-secondary students
CASH
- $2.10 for students 13-19
- $3.25 for post-secondary students
TICKETS AND TOKENS
- $10.25 for 5 tickets for students 13-19
- $3.00 per token for post-secondary students
MONTHLY METROPASS
- $116.75 for a monthly Metropass
All students, including post-secondary students enrolled full-time at an accredited institution in Toronto, are eligible for a discounted Metropass. Students 13-19 can also purchase a monthly pass on PRESTO. The monthly pass on PRESTO provides all of the same unlimited travel as a Metropass. A post-secondary monthly pass on PRESTO will be available starting in November. Students will be required to have a TTC post-secondary student photo ID in order to purchase their post-secondary monthly pass on PRESTO. Post-secondary students must also carry the TTC Post-Secondary photo ID when using their Metropass. IDs can be purchased from the TTC Photo ID Centre at Sherbourne Station or on campus, as some colleges and universities have photo ID days. The TTC reminds customers to remove their backpacks and place them on their lap or the floor between their feet as a courtesy to others.
There are no subway closures planned for this Labour Day weekend.
This fall, the TTC is introducing several new routes across the city and expanding its express network. For more information, visit ttc.ca/fall2018.
