TTC signal work continues this Saturday
This Sat., Nov. 4 only, TTC signal work will impact service on Line 1 Yonge-University between St George and Sheppard West stations.
From start of service on Saturday morning until about noon, there will be no service between St George and Sheppard West stations. At noon, service will resume between St George and Wilson stations only. There will be no service between Wilson and Sheppard West stations for the rest of the day. Full subway service on the line will resume at start of service Sunday at 8 a.m.
Throughout Saturday morning, shuttle buses will run between Sheppard West and Lawrence West stations only due to on-street construction around Eglinton West, St Clair West and Dupont stations. If possible, customers should use the Yonge portion of Line 1 on Saturday morning. Check ttc.ca for details and alternate routes.
Shuttle buses will run between Wilson and Sheppard West stations until the end of service Saturday night. Wheel-Trans buses will be available for customers requiring an accessible connection. Customers can speak with any TTC staff to request the service.
While the TTC does much of its subway maintenance work at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend closures to complete signal and state-of-good-repair work, such as replacing track and maintaining switches. One weekend of work during a closure is equivalent to about five weeks of nightly work.
The next scheduled subway closures are:
- Nov. 11-12 - Line 1: St Clair to Lawrence stations for track work.
- Nov. 25-26 - Line 1: St Clair to Lawrence stations for track work.
There is no subway closure on Nov. 18-19 in order to accommodate those attending the Santa Claus Parade.
