Osgoode Station closing this weekend for fare gate construction

This weekend, Osgoode Station will close for fare gate construction, starting at 10 p.m. on Fri., Dec. 1. The closure is necessary to complete the floor work that cannot be done while the station is open. The station will reopen at the start of service on Mon., Dec. 4.

During this closure subway trains will pass through the station without stopping. Customers will need to use St Patrick or St Andrew to access the subway.

Osgoode is one of the five remaining stations out of 24 to undergo fare gate work in this final wave of construction. Queen’s Park, Sheppard-Yonge, Finch and Union stations are the remaining stations that will have the new fare gates with PRESTO installed at them over the next five months.

Over the next two weeks, fare gate construction will also require Queen’s Park to close at 10 p.m. on four nights - Dec. 6 and 7, and again Dec. 11 and 12.

The full fare gate schedule is available at ttc.ca and a video (https://youtu.be/leJI7qjtESI) explaining the next wave of fare gate construction is posted on the TTC’s YouTube channel.

When the fare gate installation is complete next spring, every subway station and every entrance will have new gates and accept PRESTO. New fare gates are in place today at 53 stations and more than 80 entrances.
