TTC's Line 3 Scarborough closed for maintenance this weekend Additional service and route diversions in place for Pride

This weekend, June 24-25, essential rail maintenance work on Line 3 Scarborough will require the entire line, from Kennedy to McCowan stations, to close. Shuttle buses will operate, stopping only at stations along the route.

Periodic weekend closures are required as the TTC undertakes a complete life-extension rehabilitation of the tracks and vehicles on Line 3 to provide a more reliable and comfortable service over the next 10 years. This weekend's work includes replacing the power rail between Lawrence East and Ellesmere stations and carrying out rail grinding across the entire line. The line will be decommissioned following the opening of the Scarborough Subway Extension.

Wheel-Trans will be available at Kennedy Station for customers requiring an accessible connection. Customers can speak with any TTC staff member to request the service.

Midland, Ellesmere and McCowan stations will be closed. All other stations will remain open for the sale of fares.

Regular service resumes Monday morning at 6 a.m.

There will be no subway closure on the Canada Day long weekend to accommodate the numerous events happening around the city. The next scheduled closures are:

  • July 8-9 - Line 1 Yonge-University: Bloor to Lawrence stations for track work.
  • July 15-16 - Line 2 Bloor-Danforth: Jane to Ossington stations for track work.
  • July 22-23 - Line 2 Bloor-Danforth: St George to Broadview for City and TTC work on the Prince Edward (Bloor) Viaduct.
