Injunction hearing on TTC’s Fitness for Duty policy


Tomorrow, Feb. 28, 2017, Ontario’s Superior Court of Justice will begin two days of scheduled hearings on an injunction request filed by Amalgamated Transit Union Local 113 over the TTC’s Fitness for Duty policy, and specifically, random drug and alcohol testing.


Approved by the TTC Board on Nov. 30 and scheduled to begin implementation April 1, the policy will see employees in safety-sensitive positions, including designated management and executives, subject to random testing for drugs and alcohol.
