TTC overhead work to affect 501 Queen route

Staring this Wed., March 16, TTC crews will upgrade the streetcar overhead wire system at Humber Loop and replace a sub-station transformer on Lake Shore Blvd. W., resulting in no streetcar service west of Sunnyside Loop.

Shuttle buses will operate from Long Branch Loop to Dufferin Gate Loop; and from Marine Parade Drive to Dufferin Gate Loop.

Regular service will resume at 5 a.m. on March 21.

Shuttle buses operating on streetcar routes will open all doors for boarding with proof-of-payment. As buses are not yet equipped with PRESTO devices, PRESTO users will need to pay with cash, tickets or tokens and take a transfer as proof-of-payment.
