504 King streetcar service to divert during track improvements

From March 29 – April 10, the TTC will conduct streetcar track replacement and overhead work at the intersection of King St. W. and Charlotte St. This work will require King St. W. to be closed to traffic between Spadina Ave. and Peter St.

Phase 1 – TTC 504/304 King streetcar service will be diverted:
• Westbound streetcars will travel north on York St., west on Queen St. W., then south on Spadina Ave. and back to route.
• Eastbound streetcars will travel north on Spadina Ave., east on Queen St. W. then south on Church St. and back to route.

504/304 King shuttle buses will operate during peak hours and overnight both ways on King St. W. between Church St. and Strachan Ave., diverting around the closure (see map).

Shuttle buses on the 504/304 King streetcar route will require proof-of-payment (POP); however, as buses are not yet equipped with PRESTO card readers, customers using PRESTO must have an alternate form of payment such as cash, tickets, tokens or passes.

Customers whose travel includes both Line 1 Yonge-University and the 504 King streetcar during off-peak hours should board streetcars at King Station instead of St Andrew Station.

In addition, the 510C Spadina streetcars will loop at Queens Quay W. instead of King St. W.

Streetcar service on King St. W. will resume on April 11 at 5 a.m.

Phase 2 – From April 11 – 22, 2016 the intersection of Adelaide St. W. and Charlotte St. will be reduced to one lane of traffic for streetcar track work. The 145A Downtown/Humber Bay Express route eastbound buses will be maintained on Adelaide St. W.
