TTC track work on Line 1 this Saturday
Surface routes diverting for Toronto Hydro work
This Sat., Aug. 6 only, TTC crews will repair and replace subway track between St George and Union stations on Line 1 Yonge-University, resulting in that portion of the subway being closed for the day. During the closure, crews will also perform maintenance work on the signal system in the area.
Shuttle buses will operate, stopping only at subway stations along the route. Wheel-Trans buses will be available between St. George and Union stations upon request. Customers can speak with any TTC staff member to request the service.
Museum Station will be closed for the day, but all other stations will be open for customers to purchase fares.
As PRESTO is not yet available on all shuttle buses, customers are advised to carry their Metropass, tokens, tickets or cash for fare payment.
Customers traveling from the west and going to Union Station can transfer to the 510 Spadina streetcar at Spadina Station or continue to the Yonge portion of Line 1 at Bloor-Yonge Station for subway service south.
Regular subway service resumes Sun., Aug. 7 at 8 a.m.
The next scheduled subway closures are:
-
Line 2 Bloor-Danforth - Pape to St. George - Aug. 13-14
-
Line 1- Lawrence to Bloor-Yonge - Aug. 27-28
-
Line 2- Pape to St. George - Sept. 3-5
Maintaining and modernizing transit infrastructure is critical to ensuring the TTC remains a safe and reliable transit system for its 1.8 million daily riders. The TTC thanks its customers, Toronto residents and businesses, and the public for their patience and understanding.
