Refurbished vehicles enter service on TTC’s Line 3

The ongoing overhaul and refurbishment of the Toronto Transit Commission's Line 3 (Scarborough RT) is now one step closer to completion, as refurbished cars numbers 3012 and 3013 went back in service on Friday (photos below).

Over the next several months, customers will notice improved lighting and other interior improvements that offer a more modern look and functional car.

The interior refurbishment is part of a vehicle and rail overhaul maintenance plan to improve service reliability on the line until the opening of the Scarborough Subway extension in 2023.

Earlier this year, two trains were wrapped with a durable vinyl exterior finish as an alternative to paint and body work.  A new seating configuration, to be ready later this year, will provide customers with more space and greater accessibility.
