TTC Dundas West elevator to shut down for major overhaul

The elevator at the Toronto Transit Commission’s Dundas West Station will be out of service starting Sunday, March 8 for a scheduled major overhaul. The elevator will return to service during the first week of July, 2015.

The scope of work includes the complete replacement of the elevator cab, cab doors, door frames and the replacement of the hydraulic jack unit.
During the construction, the TTC will operate an accessible shuttle bus service between Dundas West and Dufferin stations to provide for an accessible connection.

The TTC is committed to accessibility. Today, all buses are accessible and four new low-floor streetcars are operating on the 510 Spadina. By 2025, all subway stations will be barrier-free.

Customers can call the TTC’s lift-line at 416-539-LIFT (5438) or subscribe to TTC e-alerts for up-to-the-minute information about elevator availability.
