TTC partial subway closure, streetcar diversion for emergency repairs

This weekend, Toronto Hydro needs to make emergency repairs in the vicinity of the Eglinton West Station. The repairs will take approximately 10-12 hours and will necessitate a subway closure and late subway opening this Sunday on Line 1 between St Clair West and Lawrence West stations. Replacement buses will be used and Wheel-Trans buses will be in place for those requiring an accessible connection.

Regular subway service will resume immediately following the conclusion of Toronto Hydro’s work at approximately 4 p.m. Sunday.

Separately, the TTC is making emergency streetcar track repairs this weekend in the tunnel leading to Spadina Station. The 510 Spadina streetcar will be on diversion via College and Bathurst Sts. from 5 a.m. this Sat., Aug. 15 until 5 a.m., Mon. Aug. 17. The streetcar platform at Spadina Station will be closed. Customers will board 510 Spadina replacement buses inside the bus bay at street level.

The 510 Spadina streetcars will service Bathurst Station. The Spadina bus replacement will travel south on Spadina Ave., east on Adelaide St., north on Peter St., west on Richmond St., north on Spadina Ave. to Spadina Station.

The new low-floor streetcar will operate exclusively on the 509 Harbourfront route this weekend.

Regular streetcar service will resume on Mon., Aug. 17 at 5 a.m.
