TTC subway track work and signal upgrade this weekend

This weekend, on September 6 - 7, there will be no service on Line 1 (Yonge-University-Spadina) between Bloor and Lawrence stations due to track work and signal upgrades. More than 60 shuttle buses will operate between Bloor and Lawrence stations. Wheel-Trans buses will be available to accommodate customers who use wheelchairs, scooters and other mobility aids.

The signal upgrade and track work is part of the TTC's commitment to modernization. The existing signals, relays, wiring and cabling equipment, much of which is approaching 60-years-old, need replacing as their frequent failure significantly impacts service. Customers heading to the downtown core are encouraged to use the University-Spadina portion of Line 1.

The TTC will be adding additional bus service on the 124 Sunnybrook, which will operate from Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre to Lawrence West Station. The 52 Lawrence West route will turn back westbound at Lawrence West Station.

Regular subway service resumes on Monday, September 8 at 6 a.m.
