Weekend track work to close portion of TTC’s Line 1

This weekend, on November 1 - 2, there will be no service on Line 1 (Yonge-University) between Bloor and Eglinton stations for track work.

Frequent shuttle buses will operate between Bloor and Eglinton stations. Toronto Transit Commission staff will be on-hand all weekend at all affected stations to assist customers. Davisville, St Clair and Rosedale stations will remain open for connecting surface routes. Summerhill Station will be closed. Davisville, St Clair and Rosedale stations will remain open for fare transactions on Saturday, but only St Clair and Rosedale stations will be open for fare transactions on Sunday. Wheel-Trans buses will be available to accommodate customers who use wheelchairs, scooters and other mobility aids.

This weekend’s work is part of the TTC’s commitment to modernizing and maintaining track and switches to ensure a more reliable subway service. The equipment on this portion of Line 1 is 60-years-old in many cases, and needs upgrading and replacing.

Alternate routes to the subway service on Line 1 include:

- Frequent shuttle buses on Yonge Street between Eglinton and Bloor stations
- 32 Eglinton West bus from Eglinton to Eglinton West Station
- 512 St Clair streetcar from St Clair to St Clair West Station

Regular subway service resumes on Monday, November 3, at 6 a.m.

Track and signal work will continue on Saturday, November 8 and Sunday, November 9, between Bloor and Eglinton stations.
