The Toronto Transit Commission will open its doors this Saturday, May 24, as part of Doors Open Toronto. The public is invited to join Councillors Paula Fletcher and Mary-Margaret McMahon and the Leslieville BIA at the TTC’s historic Russell Carhouse from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The TTC will display the new low-floor streetcar that will begin service August 31 on the 510 Spadina route. The public will be able to board the streetcar and ask questions of staff.
The TTC will also have the vintage Peter Witt and PCC streetcars on display, as well as the current streetcar, the CLRV.
Come and enjoy the day, bring your camera, see the future, and reminisce about the past.
Russell Yard is located at Queen St. E. and Connaught Ave., just east of Greenwood Ave.
Hot dogs, hamburgers and soft drinks will be sold in support of the United Way.
