TTC Queen streetcars to resume service through Leslie Street

The Toronto Transit Commission's 501/301 Queen streetcars will resume regular routing along Queen Street starting at 4:30 a.m. on June 22. Buses will continue to replace 502 Downtowner and 503 Kingston Rd streetcar service, turning back at Victoria Street, a short walk to Queen Station.

During the closure of Queen Street East and Leslie Street, crews replaced an 80-year-old watermain and installed new streetcar tracks that connect to Leslie Barns - the storage and maintenance facility being built to house Toronto's new low-floor streetcars.

Beginning at 4:30 a.m. on June 30, the intersection of Queen Street East and Broadview Avenue will close for scheduled track and switch replacement. The TTC’s 501/301 Queen streetcars will be required to divert via Coxwell Avenue, Gerrard Street, and Parliament Street. Replacement buses for the 501/502/503 routes will continue to operate along Kingston Road and Queen Street, diverting via Carlaw Avenue, Dundas Street and River Street , and turning back at Victoria Street, a short walk to Queen Station.

The TTC thanks businesses and residents in Leslieville, and customers, for their patience during this construction period.
