Leslie St. and Eastern Ave. intersection closed for TTC and City upgrades

From Monday, July 28 to September 7, the intersection of Leslie St. and Eastern Ave. will be closed as the City of Toronto and the Toronto Transit Commission continue infrastructure upgrades and track installation in the area. All traffic, including the 31B Greenwood, 83 Jones and 143 Downtown/Beach Express bus routes, will be required to divert. Pedestrian and bicycle access will be maintained at all times.

The work includes replacing old storm sewers with new, higher-capacity storm sewers, installing a new watermain and sanitary sewer connections, Enbridge gas main work and TTC track installation necessary to complete the connection from Queen St. to Leslie Barns – the storage and maintenance facility for the new low-floor streetcars that are starting service on August 31.

Service impacts:

31B Greenwood bus:
• Diverting from Dundas St. E. via Greenwood Ave., Queen St., Coxwell Ave., Eastern Ave., Woodward Ave., Queen St., Greenwood Ave. to route

83 Jones bus:
• Diverting from Dundas St. E. via Jones Ave., Queen St., Carlaw Ave., Lake Shore Blvd, Leslie St., Commissioners St. servicing the Wheel-Trans Complex on property, Commissioners St., Carlaw Ave., Queen St., Jones Ave. to route.

143 Downtown/Beach Express:
• From Neville Loop to Downtown diverting via Queen St., Carlaw Ave., Eastern Ave. to route.
• From Downtown to Neville Loop diverting via Adelaide St., Eastern Ave., Carlaw Ave., Queen St. to route.
