Statement from the TTC

Late yesterday afternoon, just before 6 p.m., a Toronto Transit Commission bus tragically struck and killed a 14-year-old girl near the intersection of Nielson Rd. and Finch Ave. E.

The TTC is co-operating fully with police in their investigation. The bus has been identified and video from the bus downloaded to aid in the investigation. The operator of the bus has also been identified and is being interviewed by police.

While the investigation continues, the TTC will not make any further statements.

The thoughts and prayers of everyone at the TTC go out to the girl's family during this very difficult time.
