TTC to resume full subway service to St Clair West Station on Line 1 at noon

The Toronto Transit Commission will restore full subway service to Line 1 (Yonge-University-Spadina) at noon today.

Following Monday evening’s severe rainfall, flooding at St Clair West Station prevented trains from operating between Lawrence West and Spadina stations. Toronto Fire was called to assist TTC track personnel to remove the water, which had proceeded to track level.

In order to deter flooding, the TTC has catch basins designed to trap water and pump it back into the City’s sewer system before reaching track level. A blockage between the catch basin and City watermain prevented water from draining properly.
