TTC subway track work, signal upgrades this weekend

The Toronto Transit Commission is conducting track replacement work on Saturday, April 6 on a section of the Bloor-Danforth line. The next day, Sunday, April 7, the TTC continues its work to upgrade the signal system on a section of the Yonge line. Both projects will result in a disruption to subway service for one day each.

On Saturday, there will be no subway service between Kipling and Jane stations. A shuttle bus service will stop at all stations between Kipling and Jane stations.  The shuttle buses will operate every 3-5 minutes. The TTC will have Wheel-Trans buses stationed at both Jane and Kipling stations to accommodate seniors and persons with disabilities who use wheelchairs, scooters and other mobility aids.

On Sunday, there will be no subway service between Bloor and Union stations on the Yonge line. Shuttle buses will operate every 2-3 minutes on Yonge Street between Rosedale, King and St Andrew stations.

The University-Spadina line is operating, fully, all weekend from Union to Downsview stations. Alternate routes to Yonge St. this Sunday from the University line include:
•  94 Wellesley bus, from Museum Station.
•  506 Carlton streetcar, from Queen’s Park Station.
•  505 Dundas streetcar, from St Patrick Station.
•  501 Queen streetcar, from Osgoode Station.
•  504 King streetcar, from St Andrew Station.

The TTC will also have Wheel-Trans buses available to accommodate seniors and persons with disabilities who use wheelchairs, scooters and other mobility aids.
