TTC 501 streetcar returns to regular routing

Construction on Queen Street East has been completed and regular streetcar service will resume on the 501 Queen route starting on Monday, September 24.

Service on the 502 Downtowner and the 503 Kingston Road will continue to be operated by replacement buses due to ongoing City of Toronto construction on Kingston Road.

As well, due to structural work being performed by the City on the King Street East bridge that spans the Bayview Extension (ties into the Queen Street East bridge spanning the Don Valley Parkway), the 504 King streetcar will be required to divert in both directions starting at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, September 24.

Streetcars will divert via King Street, Parliament Street, Queen Street East and Broadview Avenue.  The diversion will remain in place until the end of 2012, where in early 2013, the 504 King will return to regular routing.

The TTC wishes to thank its customers, residents and businesses along Queen Street East for their patience and understanding this summer. Improving and maintaining TTC infrastructure is critical to the city in ensuring transit continues to operate reliably and safely.
