City Council dissolves TTC board, appoints new board
Toronto City Council today dissolved the existing board of the Toronto Transit Commission and appointed a new board made up of seven City Councillors and four private citizens. The decision was made as part of a City staff report dealing with governance of the TTC. The former board consisted entirely of nine City Councillors.
The Chair of the TTC was also elected by City Council today. Councillor Karen Stintz was elected as Chair, a position she currently holds. The private citizen members will be appointed later this year. Once that occurs, one of the private citizens will be named Vice-Chair.
The City Councillors appointed as Commissioners are:
Councillor Karen Stintz – Chair
Councillor Maria Augimeri
Councillor Raymond Cho
Councillor Josh Colle
Councillor Glenn De Baeremaeker
Councillor Peter Milczyn
Councillor John Parker
The next regularly-scheduled meeting of the Commission is March 30.
