TTC increases frequency of bus, subway and streetcar service


The Toronto Transit Commission is increasing service on 34 bus, streetcar and subway routes to meet the demand of growing ridership. In 2011, the TTC surpassed 500 million riders and that number is expected to rise to 512 million in 2012. This additional service will reduce crowding and improve wait times, during the rush hours and at off-peak times, throughout Toronto.

Service will be increased on these routes as of September 3:

-  7 Bathurst
-  16 McCowan
-  20 Cliffside
-  32 Eglinton West
-  34 Eglinton East
-  36 Finch West
-  38 Highland Creek
-  42 Cummer
-  44 Kipling South
-  52 Lawrence West
-  54 Lawrence East
-  58 Malton
-  63 Ossington
-  67 Pharmacy
-  68 Warden
-  71 Runnymede
-  75 Sherbourne
-  77 Swansea
-  79 Scarlett Rd
-  84 Sheppard West
-  86 Scarborough
-  90 Vaughan
-  96 Wilson
-  106 York University
-  116 Morningside
-  124 Sunnybrook
-  165 Weston Rd North
-  191 Highway 27 Rocket
-  196 York University Rocket
-  320 Yonge
-  504 King
-  512 St Clair

These September service increases are just the first group of improvements for this Fall. Additional service increases will be made on many routes starting on October 7.
