TTC to close portion of Yonge subway line for weekend track work

This coming weekend, Saturday, October 29 and Sunday, October 30, the TTC will continue construction on a new double cross-over section of subway track south of St. Clair Station on the Yonge-University-Spadina line. The new cross-over will result in more efficient and reliable service, allowing subway trains to terminate at St. Clair Station in the event of a disruption to subway service.

In order to undertake this work, the TTC will close a portion of the Yonge line from Eglinton Station to Bloor Station on Saturday and Sunday.

A frequent, accessible bus service will operate between Bloor-Yonge and Eglinton Stations. Buses will stop on the street at Bloor, Rosedale, Summerhill, St. Clair and Davisville stations, and will enter the station at Eglinton.

Regular subway service will resume on Monday, October 31, 2011.

As an alternative, customers can travel downtown on the University-Spadina subway, and walk or take the streetcar eastbound to Yonge Street.

Free parking is available at Downsview and Wilson stations. Paid parking is also available at Eglinton West station.
