Late Sunday opening of TTC University subway line

In order to undertake necessary work associated with the TTC’s new Automatic Train Control signal system, the University subway line will not begin service until 2 p.m. this Sunday, November 13.

Frequent accessible shuttle buses will provide service between Union and St. George stations, stopping at Union, St. Andrew, Osgoode, St. Patrick, Queen’s Park, Museum and St. George stations.

As an alternative, customers travelling downtown can take the Yonge subway south, and then transfer to a streetcar to continue their journey, east or west, at College, Dundas, Queen or King stations. At Wellesley Station, customers can board the 94 Wellesley bus for an east or west journey.

The nature of the subway work involves the installation of equipment associated with the new signal system, which once implemented, will result in improved and more reliable subway service.
