Three more TTC bus routes becomes accessible, bike friendly

The TTC introduced three more accessible bus routes to its surface network.

Starting on Sunday, June 19, the 71 Runnymede, 77 Swansea and 90 Vaughan bus routes became wheelchair and scooter friendly. These routes are served by low-floor, kneeling buses equipped with a flip ramp or lift. This change makes 166 of the TTC’s 171 bus routes wheelchair and scooter friendly.

Accessible buses can be identified by blue lights on either side of the front destination sign, and the blue international wheelchair symbol displayed above the front right bumper next to the entrance door. All fully accessible buses include two wheelchair/scooter positions.

The same three routes also became bike-rack-equipped on June 19, bringing the total number of bus routes that are bike-racked to 159. More than 1,700 bike-rack-equipped buses are running on the bus network. All new TTC buses come equipped with bike racks, which can carry two bicycles at a time.
