Toronto Royal Canadian Legion and TTC launch annual Poppy sales campaign

Canadian war veterans and peacekeepers will team up with Grade 5 and 6 students from Davisville Public School, to launch the Toronto Royal Canadian Legion’s annual TTC Poppy Campaign.

A kick- off event will be held Friday October 30, at 11:00 a.m. on the Collector’s Level at Davisville Station. 

Canadian war veterans and peacekeepers will pin poppies on the students to remind Toronto to wear a poppy and honour the men and women who served our country.
                     
On Remembrance Day, Wednesday November 11, at 11:00 a.m., the Toronto Transit Commission will observe a two-minute stop and stay for all subway cars, buses, streetcars and SRT cars, to pause and reflect on the sacrifices made by Canadians.  Decorated Canadian war veterans and peacekeepers, along with a companion, will ride the TTC for free on Remembrance Day.  They are required to show their service medals/ribbons to receive free access to TTC buses, streetcars, subway and SRT.

TTC Chair Adam Giambrone, Royal Canadian Legion District D Commander Sheila Harris, Canadian war veterans and peacekeepers, and Grade 5 and 6 students from Davisville Public School.
